Ti-Ratana Lumbini Garden Celebrates Wesak Eve 2026 with Annual Procession in Bandar Puteri, Puchong

PUCHONG, Selangor, Malaysia - Ti-Ratana Lumbini Garden held its Annual Wesak Procession 2026 on Wesak Eve, Saturday, 30 May 2026, bringing together devotees, volunteers, honoured guests and members of the public for a 6km walk around Bandar Puteri, Puchong.

Ti-Ratana Lumbini Garden, Bandar Puteri, Puchong held its Annual Wesak Procession 2026 on Wesak Eve, Saturday, 30 May 2026, bringing together hundreds of devotees, volunteers, honoured guests and members of the public for an evening of devotion, reflection and community harmony.

The celebration formed part of Ti-Ratana Lumbini Garden’s Wesak observances, commemorating the birth, enlightenment and passing into Parinibbāna of the Buddha. The evening programme was held at Ti-Ratana Lumbini Garden before continuing with a 6km procession through the surrounding commercial area of Bandar Puteri, Puchong.

The event was graced by Bhante Hemaloka Thero, together with honoured invited guests including YB Wong Chen, Member of Parliament for Subang; Datuk Liu Thim Soon, Advisor of Ti-Ratana Buddhist Society; and Datuk Seri Dr KK Chai representing Ti-Ratana Welfare Society. Their presence reflected the spirit of friendship, community support and harmony that marked this year’s Wesak celebration.

Before the procession, devotees gathered in the Shrine Hall to pay respects to the Triple Gem, make offerings, participate in devotional activities and receive blessings. Volunteers assisted throughout the evening at the reception, donation counters, offering areas, food and refreshment stations, crowd coordination points and procession support teams. The Puja session and speeches were live streamed on Facebook and YouTube, and the replay can be viewed on YouTube.

A key highlight of the evening was the Wesak procession around Bandar Puteri, Puchong. Devotees walked together with candles, Buddhist flags and banners, accompanying the beautifully decorated floats as they carried the message of peace, compassion and wisdom beyond the temple grounds and into the wider community.

The Wesak floats featured illuminated Buddha images, floral decorations and Dhamma-inspired designs, symbolising the light of wisdom and the cultivation of wholesome qualities. Devotees also participated in the Bathing Buddha ceremony, a traditional Wesak practice that reminds Buddhists to purify the mind, cultivate humility and reflect on the teachings of the Buddha in daily life.

This year’s celebration was also held in connection with the Nationwide Grassroots Wesak Celebrations 2026, reflecting the wider national spirit of harmony, wisdom and community participation.

Ti-Ratana Lumbini Garden is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00am to 6:00pm. On Full Moon and New Moon days according to the Chinese lunar calendar, the centre opens with extended hours from 9:00am to 10:00pm, with Buddhist Puja beginning at 8:00pm, both in person and online.
